These Words Are Mine ...

My poor blog, it's been a while since I spent any time posting on it ...
but I am now back after an almost 2 week absence :p It feels like such a long time!

Various things have been happening since then:

Raise Your Voice
Saw this *great* movie with Lauz the other week (I do believe this is where I last left off) .. okay, it wasn't great, in fact it was quite carp ... it was like one of those b grade movies you get on foxtel, except when it goes straight to cable it's okay (esp when it's on at 2am in the morning and there's not much else to watch) .. but for a movie which you pay for (thank goodness we didn't!), it's carp ...

It was like Center Stage, except with singing .. oh and Center Stage is about 10 000 times better in comparison, and that's not even the best movie out there! ... Waay too many similarities (and you had the odd bit of other teen movies which I can't think of atm thrown into it too) ... The thing is though, after the movie, I couldn't stop giggling .. I thought that maybe Lauz spiked my chuppa chupp, cos as we were leaving the cinemas, we almost got run over by cars (and yet found this funny?) and were giggling all the way home as if we were drunk! :p

However... I know she wouldn't have done something stupid like that, and after bumping into Mal the other night, I was telling her all about the movie (Mal's my sista's best friend and Lauz had already told her all about the movie incident) and couldn't stop giggling again! argh must be the movie! hmm

Opera
I went and saw Tosca performed at Opera in the Domain a couple of Saturday nights ago with my parents ... hmm, i really like events in the domain, it's so nice to have a picnic there and i love the mini pancakes :p It took about 3 reads of the synopsis though (from different sources) to work out the storyline .. it's a bit hard to understand the first time when all the names sound like different types of pasta :p

Frisbee
We won both games last week, so we ended up in the quarter finals for div 2 and played a friendly for div 3 as we had automatically qualified for the quarter finals .. I played an okay div2 game, even though I felt absolutely lethargic - every step I ran felt like i was going backwards instead of forwards .. yet I managed to do 3 hand blocks in the one point! (i didn't think i'd reach the disc in time as i was feeling ultra slow, yet surprisingly made it!) -> it should have only been 2 hand blocks and a goal, but i kinda dropped it in the endzone .. yay to jamiel who backed me up :p

Though this week, I played the quarter finals for both div2 and 3 and ended up with a v sore thigh thanx to Jamiel .. we lost div2, though I did manage to catch a very vertical and very fast hammer in the endzone :p I ended up with the sore thigh after I ran for the disc in the endzone and didn't think that jamiel would make it (as it was going over his head) - but i underestimated his jumping ability and speed and he grabbed it above my head and kneed me in the thigh :o/ he was just short of the endzone so he threw it to me and i scored but i'm not sure it was worth the pain as i'm still struggling to walk :o/ I also had another collision in the endzone as i went to block the disc but a guy from the other team jumped for it and scored it, just as I put my hands out to stop us colliding and whacked him hard in the stomach :p I think that whilst it's good to go all out, i'm not going to risk getting hurt like that again and if a boy is going for the disc, i'm just going to leave it ..

I also got hurt in the next game as i went to block the disc and a guy from behind ran up really quickly to catch it - some body part (it felt like the shoe but i'm not sure how :p) got the back of my arm really hard :o/ We did win this quarter final and i'm really really happy about that :o) It's good to see our team doing so well, and i waay prefer my div 3 team to div 2 .. in div2, they spend waay too much time arguing and getting mad at each other if someone stuffs up .. at least in div 3 if you make a mistake, all you will hear is "too bad" or "nice try" .. there's no point arguing about something you can't change and ppl do make mistakes - even the best players ..

I played surprisingly okay in div 3 - i thought my bad attempt at squash on Sunday started off a really bad sporting week for me :p hehe I think I jumped/leapt for a disc in the endzone and surprisingly caught it :p Josh's comment was "when did you get a step ladder" ;p Though I must admit, some of the best blocks/goals were scored by Ian who somersaults and has no fear when it comes to grabbing the disc! Pity he's away next week as we'll really need his acrobatic skills in the semi finals!

Bye bye
*sigh* my manager's last day was Friday and it was really sad to see her go .. I wish that she could have left *after* I rotate next month .. as well as this, my neighbour next to me has also moved desks .. it was a v last min thing and we only found out on the day he moved :o/ He was packing up his name tag and i gave him a sad puppy dog look - he told me to stop looking at him like that and it was time i made friends with the other kiddies :P It was good having him next to me as he's really experienced (and quite senior too) with the project/system so i could *always* ask him for help ...

but just as I said goodbye to these ppl, Bernard, my boxing buddy, is back! :o) wewt! :p He said i've lost centimetres :p though he was more referring to height as he was standing on a high step when i saw him :p

in other news, Matty is taking over my role :P I get to whip him and boss him about ;o) wewt! ;o) we have about a 3-4 week overlap so things should hopefully be a bit fun for the next month :p

For Your Ears Only
I was thinking about this the other day, and it's quite hard when you have a word/phrase which is an "in" thing with one group but not another .. For example, if i said "ref1" to some ppl, they'd look at me strangely ... but others would laugh or immediately get what I mean (it's a term Ryan coined when apologising :p)

Same thing happened the other day .. I was out with the SL crew at Pho Me (i sooo don't recommend eating there ... even if you do get a 10% discount cos the food's still pricey and doesn't taste great either) and after that event, we made up our own swear word .. BUT, I can't say it to anyone else, or when I try to explain it to others, they just dont find it funny ... Whenever i feel like saying it out loud, i know that ppl will only look at me strangely so i stop .. which isn't fun at all :o/

Birthdays
Happy Birthday Ruth for last Thursday! to my oldest (and tallest? well out of the females :p) friend :o) The only person from primary school who I keep in contact with the most regularly .. I feel bad cos I received an sms about her bday dinner the day of her dinner saying it was tomorrow, which I assumed was Friday but the message was actually sent on the Wednesday, so dinner was on the Thursday! I still managed to rock up but missed most of the night :o/ (i blame ryan :p)

The Wisdom of Teeth
Saw the oral surgeon today and apparently i have to get my wisdom teeth out .. mum's not keen on it and wants me to avoid it if possible but both dentist and surgeon say it's needed .. i haven't felt pain in a while but i think they're not growing straight and are only going to get worse - they dont seem to be coming out properly :o/ I have pencilled in a date in April to have them out :o/ bye bye teeth!


Anyhoos, i'm buggered and this post is long enough ... so bedtime now and dear blog, i will try to neglect you less in the future! :o)
