Soy Capitan!

Man, this wedding is taking over my life! 6 days to go, can't wait till it's over but dreading wearing my pink lumpy dress! :o(

Okay, recap of what's been happening these past few days:

Friday
Was Mamo's surgery day - Hope you're feeling better dude!

hmm was also our last day at SL ... we had an asian banquet at Bai Yok which wasn't bad ... I was at the good end of the table - we were meant to share the food amongst 4 but one of our 4 was a vegetarian .. so we had plenty of food amongst us, whilst everyone else down the table was drooling as they'd finished their food really quickly! Portions weren't that big for 4 but more than suffice for 3 :o)

then went to Port Orient for my sista's hens night .. hmm fun! well sorta :p .. Fotos can be here. Might not be safe for work cos there are about 50 stripper fotos :p

Food:~
Was carp .. 7 courses, but there wasn't anything spectacular .. their spring rolls and dim sim thingy tasted like fat! Their quality of meat wasn't that good either .. the only dishes I liked was the roast chicken and their squid (which was slightly dry but still better than everything else there) ...

Stripper:~
Fugly :p He had pimples on his back, his hair made him look fabio-like (though apparently he said dont call him fabio :p), he was a bit too muscular looking, and the mini bike pants he wore weren't that flattering .. We were told that as part of the 40 per head that the stripper was included but on the night, the restaurant changed that and said that we had to pay $180 for him, because the whole restaurant didn't want him .. hmmm carp ...

Dancing:~
Was fun sorta .. except limbo - sooo not flexible! The manager made me do it even though I didnt want to .. Also, the bus stop dance (last dance) was carp cos no one knew what to do and the manager couldn't show us either! :p Silly! I learnt how to nutbush, though i'll prolly forget how to do it (i always do :p)

Karaoke:~
I enjoyed that, but mainly after everyone left :p The first song I sung was the song I need to do if i'm going to do karaoke at all (it's my warmup cos i know all the words and the tune!) --> Mr Big, One to Be With You or whatever it's called :p After Carey's friends left, it was just Lauz, 2 of her friends and me (oh and Carey .. but she was a bit hungover and falling asleep :p) so we hogged the karaoke machine and sung our lungs out! Was fun .. though I can't believe Lauren's friends don't know Mama by the Spice Girls! :p hmm Love Me For a Reason - Boyzone roxs :p hehe not really, but those teeny boppy pop songs are the songs Lauren and I like to sing together :p

The ppl at the restaurant wanted us to leave (they close at 2 but tried getting us out by 12:30) and one of the waitresses (major b!@#$) told us that we had plenty of songs on the list and we should just see how long that lasts .. she was trying to be subtle, and so I tried being subtle back .. esp when she tried taking the remote for the machine from my hands, i just moved my hand away (with the remote) and said "yeah, we'll see how long this lasts" and then just went back to singing :p Added some more songs on later .. eventually she got the remote (i left it on the stage) and we were stuck singing the songs i'd chosen - we'd been skipping songs earlier when I'd accidentally typed some in incorrectly or found out they were carp songs (good choruses but that's all we knew :p) .. My last choice of songs weren't *that* bad though :p We got stuck singing la bamba again (man, it sucks not being in english :p), do re me (which lauz's friends enjoyed) and for the final song - From a Distance by Bette Midler --> hey, at least we knew the tune! :o)

Ended up getting home after 2:30 (dad picked Lauz and me up thankfully cos we were buggered!) .. but was a fun night :o)

Saturday
Gymmed it early even though was tired .. only managed body pump though, which was okay cos i like to do weights once a week ...

had a dress maker appointment for the bridesmaid dresses that lunchtime .. we took the dresses home even though we're not entirely satisfied with them - you can see the lines from the facing underneath the front, and the dressmaker pressed them into the fabric .. looks like my bra lines, and makes it look like my bra is lumpy :o( *sigh* i hate it! :o(

came home and napped for like 3 hours .. was living on barely any sleep at the end of last week, and waking up early Saturday morning to gym it didn't help .. what made it worse was my sista, who woke up early that morning decided to make breakfast .. but her idea of making breakfast is making her own cereal, so she was whacking it for some odd reason, and was woken up by her loud bangings .. *grumbles*

stayed up late that night, cos the nap ruined my sleeping patterns, and sewed and uploaded fotos and stuff .. went to bed at like 4am! :p

Sunday
Happy Birthday Therese and Minh!

Spent about 6 hours at the other dressmakers for carey's fitting .. i hate dressmakers :o(

We worked on getting the bustle right (i came up with the design for it .. as the train's too heavy to just button it up in the one spot, and we didn't want stupid plastic pieces all over the skirt to clip the train with), and then had to wait for the dressmaker to sew it .. she had to alter it a little bit, and after the final alteration, wouldn't let my sista try it on - just made us take it home! I was glad to get home, but it's carp that she wasn't allowed to try it on (in case it was wrong) .. *sigh* really sick of dressmakers :o/

Came home annoyed and with a headache and decided I needed to get out of the house .. so whilst dad took the car to get cleaned, I got him to drop me off at the bball courts near Mindy's place ... pity there's only one ring there .. there was one guy shooting there when I arrived (he had 2 mates with him) but then they left to play soccer .. about 2 secs later, was joined by this other family .. at first all of them were shooting (3 kids + 1 dad and the mother just watched on) but then it was just 1 of the kids + her dad .. seemed like nice ppl though ..

It got a bit bad though when these 3 little boys and their parents came .. the 3 little boys were shooting, and whilst they were kinda cute and kept retrieving my ball for me if it rolled off quite far, it made things really hard and quite dangerous when shooting .. i think i hit the little boy in the head with the ball once it hit the backboard .. he was okay though, but still, quite dangerous .. cos they were running here and there in front of me, and ppl were shooting all at the same time ... Then another boy joined us as well .. hmm

I did a few swishes which I was happy with .. was just working on my technique, though is there much point? JY said he might try and get a team together, but cos there's not enough female interest (there never is with the sports i like .. frisbee, squash, bball), they prolly will make it a guy's thing :o(

Stayed for about an hour before my dad picked me up - which was good cos it was getting heaps dark by then :p

Monday
New building! it's nice, but hmm bit too open plan .. and my desk is tiny! but it's only temporary (for a week) .. my desk is just over half the size of everyone else's :p i have no room for anything, but there's not much point in unpacking everything if i'm going to be packing up and moving soon ..it just feels weird being in this new home .. it seems heaps busier, though it probably isn't, because everyone's so close to each other ... we're fitting 6 floors of ppl (even though the floors were half empty at SL) into 2 floors here in the city .. hmm

I'm sitting next to my workmate, Kevin .. I saw him y'day looking for our building - he looked really lost :p Then we got in the wrong lifts too :p Great start to the morning :p (actually, my great start was remembering my seasonal train ticket had expired and forgetting to buy another one the day before :o/ had to buy a weekly instead) ... We were already arguing like an old married couple about desk/storage space :p it's only joking arguing though, cos i'm leaving soon so i really dont need the space :p but he's put up a barrier to mark what side is his and what's mine :p he kindly moved it over a little bit though y'day, to give me some more room :p He has a great view of the bridge though!

Went to Athletic Power y'day - it's an aerobics class .. went with Josh after work, first time i'd been .. it's okay, similar to body burn but i prefer body burn .. they had a replacement instructor this week, so i'm wondering how hard the normal instructor is - i hear he/she is tough! They make u do sprints in the class, which is stupid cos there's not enough room .. i dont mind sprinting, provided there's space, but it's carp when you're running into ppl :o(

Josh commented that i'm fit, cos i didn't die at the end of the class .. but i was dead when i reached frisbee ;p My head hurt so i had to take 2 nurofen, but i only took it in the middle of our first game and it only took effect at the end of the first game ... I scored 3 in that game though and we won 8-2 i think? or 7-2, something like that ...

We lost our 2nd game though .. we let the other team pick up 3 players instead of making them forfeit (yay spirit :p) and they played heaps well .. hmm, they were leading about 7-2 at one stage i think, but we ended up bringing it up to 7-5 i think? (that last point of ours might not have been quite in, but it was off the last throw of the game, and we werent allowed to throw again .. the other team gave us the point anyways) ... We picked up an American player, it really helped having him (he's got a good defence) .. We really needed him, esp seeing as our captain (who also has great defence) was away ...

He made us do this American cheer at the end of our game:

Completely exhausted when I got home though ... feet hurt so much i had probs falling asleep cos i just couldn't relax :o(

Tuesday
Got email from my new manager .. I meet her tomoz .. I may be taking time off in lieu thurs/friday, so tomorrow may be my last day with this team ... though im thinking of only taking half of friday off, so i can come and meet the new intake of grads Friday arvo .. but we'll see ...
