Three C's to Frisbee
Last night, the spring hat tourney for frisbee started ... hmm I'm really out of my zone atm, am playing so sub standard it's just awful :o(
I was thinking about three c's which I need to work on (and plan on working on) for the rest of the tournament:
1) Cutting --> I prefer to hang long, but really should attempt to cut for the disc
2) Clearing out --> When I finally do cut, I should probably clear out when I don't do the disc .. though I do have a tendency of clearing out too soon when I could probably go for the disc
3) Confidence --> Am completely lacking it!!! :o(
The night got off to a good start .. I went to Gore Hill Oval and no one was there :p I was probably going to wait there for a bit to see if anyone would arrive, but thankfully there were 2 other ppl who also arrived at the oval as well .. after a quick discussion, we decided to try Naremburn and alas, everyone was there :p
My team shirt colour is light blue - no one wanted the bright pink shirt (not sure why :p Phil loved our bright pink one from a couple of years back, he often wore it out in public :p) .. Tis a nice colour, except for the fact that it's harder to hide the dirt (Woody dragged me in the dirt last night after I kept punching his wobbly tummy :p) and it means we play all the late games .. Only got home around 10:30 last night (games started/finished late :o/)
My team's pretty cool .. I played with 2 of them in div 2, and I've played against our captain in div 4 (in the finals in fact :p) .. The captain asked if he could give me a nick name like Andi and i'm like "okay, but I may not respond to it" :p hmm, online yes, but if you say it out loud, most likely not :p hehe i'm more likely to respond to Dre or Andre .. I think Chito once called out Andi to me and I never responded (that or I was just ignoring him :p) ...
But I was disappointed with my playing overall ... I was forced to handle, which was a good thing cos it did build up my confidence slightly - i have a fear of dropping the disc when i'm handling, but thankfully didn't ... there were a couple of attempts in the end zone I could have gone for, but one was quite low and fast (would require a really good layout which I wasn't able to do) and one went high and curved right, which meant jumping and sprinting which I also didn't have much luck doing :o/ There were also 2 throws where I was about to go for them but then put the brakes on cos I thought my teammates were going for them .. but they thought I was going for it, so we all just stopped :p Miscommunicationg big time :p I should just go for it next time :o/
In other (non-frisbee) news:
* Had Allan L's farewell lunch y'day .. we shouted him a meal at deli noodles (i had a shop a docket and let him have the free meal :p) ... food v oily, that's 3 days in a row i've eaten out at an Asian restaurant
* Had Chinese on Sunday night for Eileen's b'day .. food was good but was disappointed there was no dessert soup! I love my red bean soup! :o/
* Wedding - is getting closer ... hmmm ...
* I found a good Saturday morning gym combo (provided I wake up in time) --> body pump followed by body burn ... Cecilia often goes to body burn there too so I had company when I went on the weekend ...
* Body burn instructor is in a foxtel ad (am still to see it) .. he's going away for 6 weeks (he said he might not return even! but said he should be back in Nov), and this week is his final week .. i may be missing the first 2 weeks he's away anyways cos of the hens night recovery/wedding, but still .. he seriously pushes us to work hard ... Though when I move to the city, i might go to the burn classes at lunch (there's a few on), hopefully they'll be as good!
hmm think that's about it .. will post again later if I think of more :p
