I Once Had Time ....
I started writing this last Monday - and never got around to finishing it .. so i'll wrap up my summary of 2 weeks ago and the week before that, and maybe in a fortnight, will get around to writing about what happened last week (and why i haven't been posting! :o/)

WRITTEN MONDAY 29TH NOVEMBER
i know it's been ages since i last posted and a lot's happened since then .. so i'll try to make this as brief as possible with only the highlights :p
Sarongs and Strings
Last Saturday, Alan was invited to a Sri Lankan dinner/dance event by some guy who works at BT who catches Alan's bus .. Alan's friend had 2 spare seats so Alan roped me into going - I was a bit worried cos I had no idea what it would be like, nor did I know anyone there! BUT, it turned out to be HEAPS of fun! Sarongs = what the men wear in Sri Lanka .. Alan told me the dress code was sarongs and I was going to try to bring one along, good thing I didn't as it was only a guy thing :p Strings = noodles they eat .. The food there was catered by the Blue Elephant (Crows Nest) - the event was held at a community hall at marsfield ... good food though a lot was too hot for me :p
Sat next to the loveliest woman - Kakalu (not sure of spelling) .. so friendly and when she realised I didn't like hot food much, she came up with me and helped pick food I could eat :o) It's apparently tradition to eat with your hands too, so quite a few around me were doing it .. Alan tried it - was funny watching him as he was concentrating so hard on mashing the food and putting it in his mouth .. for everyone else, it was naturla :p And kakalu chose to eat with her hands, only to help show Alan what to do! They were v friendly ppl on our table :o) The music was good too, really daggy stuff but stuff I knew :o) They played this medley of children's tunes (someone had done it up and made it sound really poppy), that was a classic :o) AND, what surprised me most was that 90-95% of the ppl were up and dancing! It didn't matter how bad at dancing you were, they danced! So lively! At my sista's wedding, we were lucky to have had 15% of the ppl dancing!
Frisbee
Awful awful awful! We had a great comeback in our div3 game but the game was marred by one of the guys making a comment he shouldn't have .. the other team approached us about it and the guy on my team refused to apologise! I ended up apologising cos I felt bad but they realised it wasn't the team's fault .. *sigh* it made me want to give up playing :o/
If I had written about this last week, I would have filled up quite a few paragraphs about this :p But am not as annoyed about things .. though am not really looking fwd to tonight's game, as we're playing against my old div 3 team (about 2-3 seasons ago?) and I know that they're v competitive too!
Small World
A few weeks ago, my mum and I were shopping and we bumped into my boxing partner - we didn't talk to him but I pointed him out to my mum .. Anyhoos, last week Myer was having a 1 day sale .. My boxing partner (Bernard) and I were joking that he'd see my parents at the shop, even though he didn't know what they looked like .. Anyhoos, my dad bumped into his old workmate at the shops and it turned out it's Bernard's wife! My mum was the one who made the connection cos after being introduced, she then told dad that he's my boxing partner :p
I wanted to see what Bernard's kids looked like but didn't look when i bumped into him the other week - turns out that we have a picture of one of them at home! My parents were invited to his baptism and we had a picture of him one our piano for ages - ppl kept asking if it was a relo :p
When Bernard had told me his child's name (it's pronounced differently from how most ppl pronounce it), i thought of my dad pronouncing a kid's name that way once, and mum telling him he was doing it incorrectly .. haha it turns out it was that kid he was talking about! ah small world indeed! :p
Bumping Into Ppl
Bumped into Nicole on the train the other day :o) And then that same morning Matt R who I haven't seen since uni! hehe I came into work early that day and ended up rocking up normal time cos I was chatting away to him for ages :p
Luna Park
Spent y'day at luna park and wewt, didn't get burnt .. or rash from sunscreen - I was using the Coles Persona 30+ sunscreen and it seems to have worked okay :o) So was v happy about that ..
Tix to Luna Park were $10 - Eileen's work had organised it as their xmas party .. Unlimited rides, free ice cream, and free meal .. though of the meal, all i really had was the water - ($3.50 for a bottle! eep, glad it was free!) .. their burgers there are gross! blegh! ... I was too cheap to buy another bottle of water, so i went to the bar area (nice and air conditioned there - most ppl were relaxing there) and asked for a glass of water with ice .. so refreshing! and I used it to top up my water bottle - was free and much colder than the bought stuff!
Rides were okay, had a sore neck from some of them .. was waiting in a queue for the tango ride (up and down ride which goes in a circle forwards and backwards) when we started smelling a bad smell --> some kid had thrown up on one of the rides! ew gross! .. we all just left and went to find another ride! hmm
I managed to stop the dodgem cars too :p I kept reversing (i was hopeless) and then got rammed .. hat went flying off onto the course, and they had to stop the ride just to retrieve it .. 2 secs after we started up again, everyone got into a traffic jam (4 cars next to each other blocked the track so we couldn't move) and that was the end of our ride :p
******
There was prolly a whole lot of other stuff that happened in those weeks but I dont remember them anymore so I'll post again later (hopefully this year :p) about random stuff that's happened lately that I do remember :p
