Sleep Time ..

Argh I need sleep!

Y'day, I was looking like Jon English ... and that's really not a good look!

So, I haven't posted in a long time, I'm getting bad .. it's just waay too hard to post at work and well, I'm usually pretty busy/buggered when I get home and one the last things I want to do is be at my comp when i've been at it all day long ..

Productivity was pretty low all week .. Think it's to do with the weather .. I find I work hardest on a Friday, esp in the arvo and end up staying back quite late - i think it's cos I'm working under pressure, realising I have a lot to get done before the weekend :p

Testing is soo much fun .. NOT! I never even got around to executing my test cases - i was about to, but then I had to make all these changes to my test cases :o/ And there are holes in my knowledge, so I end up having to ask lotsa questions to ppl who are really busy, so I spent a lot of time waiting before I can move on and continue my work :o(

Anyhoos, a wrap up since my last post:
Last Saturday
Xerx and Kel's joint 22nd birthday ... Photos are here .. Was a good night, lotsa laughs, tooth pick poking, gossiping fun :p It was pretty cold outside, so a few of us moved inside and it ended up being the bennies girls just sitting around chatting - wow, that hasn't happened in a while!

I heard from them that apparently Kylie, a girl from my hs who called me up for my b'day last week, was engaged .. I had no reason not to believe this - she'd been going out with this guy since primary school (we all went to the same primary school), so I sent her an sms congratulating her and was like "why didn't you tell me! :p" .. She's like "i'm not!" .. Ah, I felt like a bit of a goose (she found it funny though), but I had no reason not to believe it .. though it's making me think that I should always check my facts before I believe gossip! Though the other bits of gossip I heard about her group were all true (i confirmed that bit with Kylie today :p)

Also, 2 girls there were wearing the exact same jacket as me .. except mine was grey, and theirs were white and black! Phew that they weren't the same colour, but eep about us wearing the same jacket .. they have such good taste in clothes :p

Sunday
Lauren got back from Melbourne and Carey and Rob got back from their honeymoon --> my mum's still going thru all of Carey's wedding fotos, so they won't be uploaded for a while :o/

Cos they arrived back on Sunday, I got my b'day pressies from them .. Lauren got me earrings, a bracelet, a top, this funky eye shadow pencil, and the Lizzie McGuire dvd (which I got on Thursday) --> lotsa girly and lotsa pink stuff .. way cool :o) Carey got me a Stitch (Lilo & Stitch) doll from Hawaii - so cute .. I haven't seen any of them around here before :o)

I'd also received a really nice necklace from Alan for my b'day and my parents got me various things, such as a sandwich press (they'd promised to buy me one ages ago, but then told me to take Carey's as she wasn't using it .. so eventually I remembered to ask Carey for it when I was at her place, and yet it turned out to be a jaffle maker!), Love Actually dvd, foto printer, clothes etc ... Lotsa cool stuff :o)

Monday-Tuessday
Don't really remember these days much :p Didn't have frisbee on Monday, but even if it was a frisbee week, it woulda been cancelled cos of the rain .. It was absolutely awful, and trains dont like the rain .. nor do they like hot days either .. or just moving it seems - they're never on time on the way back home :o/

Had lunch with JY, Hungly and Alan on Monday, cos JY and the rest of the SL ppl moved to the city .. we went to hunter bar - the food there is quite nice (portions aren't that big though), but I'd already brought my lunch in so I just stole a few chips from Alan and JY :p I like their chips, nice chicken salt :p

Wednesday
Had a presentation thingy at 8:15 that morning (well 8:30 start but had tea/coffee beforehand) .. It was about the project I'm on and what's happening .. Small world - the guy at Mac Bank from Accenture who I always went to for work now works at Wpac and I think he's like one of the project directors (pretty important person!) .. not sure if he remembers me or not, everyone was congratulating him in our lift for getting some award, and for a split second, he looked at me and whispered hello .. I'm pretty sure it was aimed at me :p Ah though I can't be positive :P Back at Mac Bank, I wouldn't have thought he'd be a manager or make it high up the chain, but he's pretty popular and high up at Wpac it seems!

As part of this project, a fitness program is organised .. we get free membership at some gym at the Marriot Hotel (think it's like 75 visits per team or something, and max of 3 visits per week?) .. It seems really good, though I won't be cancelling my FF membership for it .. I prolly wont go there heaps, only if I want a run after work (hopefully it's less busy than FF) or if they offer good classes ...

Saw A Cinderella Story that night with Lauren and her friend Malini ... It was okay .. the Lizzie McGuire movie is better though :p I saw thru it cringing just a little bit and it was v predictable (though that was kinda obvious) and I actually enjoyed it more after the movie .. cos I've been thinking of various scenes and then it's like "awww, that was a sweet scene" but didn't enjoy it as much when I was watching it the first time .. so now I want to see it again and I think i'll enjoy it more cos even though it's predictable, i think knowing what happens will kinda make it better - i know that doesn't make any sense but I really want to see it again, even though throughout the movie I really didn't think it was that good :p

Chad Michael Murray is okay looking - he looks better in the Gilmore Girls .. too pretty boy in this movie, esp at the ball where he's wearing some prince charming puncey outfit :p But his sweet character did improve him .. though he was meant to be some really good gridiron player, yet he looked way too weedy! :p I do like Hilary Duff though - her acting isn't the greatest but she's appealing to watch .. prolly cos she's not Hollywood perfect, yet still attractive :o) Kinda seems level headed, and if I had a daughter, I'd prolly prefer her to idolise Duff than say .. the Olsen Twins? or Avril? I dunno, I think she's a better role model than other actresses ...

There are better cinderella stories out there like Ever After .. That was on tv last night and I was trying to find my dvd of it cos I missed most of it .. Couldn't find it anywhere and honestly thought it was lost (cos i've never taken it out of my computer room to watch it) and was even contemplating buying another copy (it's $20) ... Thankfully today though, I asked Carey if she'd seen the dvd (i almost forgot to ask, and didnt think she woulda have seen it) and she said she had it! Last night, she was testing out her dvd player (wedding pressie) and found the dvd in her boxes so thought she'd try it .. Apparently Lauz nicked my dvd (she said she asked but I honestly don't remember her asking!) and was meant to return it but never did .. great one :p But am glad that I found it, and it was good luck that Carey had tested her dvd player out last night, else I woulda ended up buying another copy of it!

Got served by some newb at Maccas .. I asked for sweet chilli sauce (sista wanted it) but they gave us sweet and sour sauce instead (didn't realise) .. It cost 30c a well! Actually, I think 35c cos i think she forgot to give me my 5c change :p Ah, such a newb :P hehe oh well, can't really help it .. not all maccas stuff are dodgy - hehe I say that cos Grace works there and I'm sure she's really good at her job .. she seems to know everything, whenever I have a Maccas question, she's the person to ask!

Thursday
Had my farewell lunch with my old team (even though I left 2 weeks ago :p) .. went to Selah at Circular Quay .. nice restaurant, food is okay priced .. my team shouted me which was good :o) I ordered the potato fish cakes with salsa and rocket salad .. I dont really like rocket much, and the salsa was a little bit too peppery, but the fish cakes were lovely! and I was really really really full afterwards!

Friday
Ended up staying back late cos I was trying to get as much done as possible .. Im not ready to execute my test cases and it's just bad how behind I'm feeling :o/ So I ended up skipping drinks with JY and Hungly (JY did such a bad job of organising it! He said he'll organise drinks, and he organised it ... but 2 mins before he wanted to go! So I ended up only getting a fone call about it Friday arvo at 5:30!)

I was really really really tired that day as I'd barely had any sleep that week and Thursday night, my parents decided to install the drivers and programs for my new photo printer .. They bought it for my b'day, but only bought it on the Thursday (they had been looking around for a good model to come out/get in stock at a reasonable price) .. It's an epson and seems okay .. Though I was up late Thurs night cos my dad went to all the trouble of installing the photo software to print it, yet was just using explorer to print off the photos - they came out dark and it didn't matter what we did with the settings, they still looked carp ... So I ended up using the software my dad had gone to the trouble of installing, and voila - the fotos came out as they should have been! tsk tsk, silly parents :p

Today

Went to the gym, did 2 hours per usual .. I was buggered yet still went .. It hurt heaps when I did the muscle conditioining part in Body Burn - a mixture of tiredness and overdoing it i think, cos i'd already upped the weights in Body Pump ..

Came home and baked .. my grandparents are visiting from Sth Africa and for the past 4 weeks have been staying with my aunt + uncle .. they're staying with us for a week, before heading down to Melbourne, so they arrived for arvo tea today and mum suggested I make cakes .. I made a mud cake last night, and then a carrot cake and an apple cake today ... Iced the mud cake today, and did the same with the carrot cake - lotsa washing up inbetween and was just going non-stop ... The mud cake was okay, bit too heavy though and not as moist as it should be - was trying out a new recipe .. it said to cook for 1.5 hours which I did, and normally my cakes require more cooking time than required (think it's our oven) yet this cake prolly required less than it said .. might try a new recipe ..

Carrot cake turned out better than it had at Patrick's ... at Pat's, it kinda fell apart - overly moist? or slices to small? not sure .. but it didn't have the same problem today thank goodness :o) We have lotsa cake .. my other grandfather's b'day cake, and also my sista brought some brioche and I think my aunt + uncle bought some cakes too .. and so did my dad :p

Met up with Kylie and Christine today - haven't seen them both since hs .. well actually, i've seen kylie once at towers before and Chrissy I sometimes bumped into at uni .. but i haven't really just sat down and chatted with them in aaages! They were both in my roll call, so i spent 6 years getting to know both of them - and I went to the same primary school as Kylie .. She's shorter than me! The only girl in my grade shorter than me, but she's adorable! :o) We only ever speak at her and my birthday so it was good talking face to face :o) Chrissy reminds me of Margaux a little when she talks - there's a bubbliness and yet innocence in the way they talk ... maybe not innocent is the word I want, maybe it's just that they have pure hearts .. they speak honestly and passionately at the same time? can't quite pinpoint it :P

Tis a small world - Chrissy is going out with this guy who's only been living in Aus for about 2.5 years .. The reason he came to Australia is cos he met some girl over the internet and they ended up moving in together - that girl was in our year at Bennies as well! I was v shocked when I found out, as Chrissy and this girl are sooo opposite! V small world :p

Just got back from my grandfather's 90th B'day .. I missed the fireworks at the Lantern Festival as a result (v upset about that, as last year it was cancelled cos of a fire ban!) and Nicole's 21st birthday party .. Happy Birthday Nicole

We went to some Chinese restaurant in Liverpool .. my dad ordered the food, and the first dish that came out looked like this deep fried pork thing .. we asked the waiter what it was and he said cheese! We're all like "wtf??" - apparently it's cheese and pork, and deep fried I think .. but it's one of their most popular dishes (the waiter recommended it to my dad) :P Hehe v authentic, seeing as the chinese dont really use cheese in their dishes i dont think :p It tasted like KFC :p

They also had karaoke at this restaurant - I wouldn't go up without Lauren and her ears were blocked, so we didn't go up .. plus, it's one thing to embarrass yourself in front of your friends, it's another to do it in front of a whole restaurant and your family! There were these 2 girls who went up and sang Backstreet Boys and then Celine Dion's My Heart Will Go On .. omg, it was BAAAADD!!!! Its bad enough their singing wasn't really that spot on, but it was worsened by their song choice! :p hehe oh well, good for them for trying :p BUT, i wasn't happy when one of them kept leaving out this 3rd girl and the 3rd girl was going to go up and request a song to sing, and one of the other girls stopped her from doing so .. Okay, I dont think I woulda enjoyed hearing the girl sing (I'd had enough of hearing bad singing) but it wasn't a v nice thing to do ...

Anyhoos, absolultely buggered! Though I might have one more go at Simpsons Road Rage (got it plus this skating game for my b'day) - not fair, Alan top scored on it last night .. i'm so bad at it! :o(
