Rising to the Challenge

yay! Had a much much much better game at basketball today - I reckon Johnson's my bad luck, cos whenever i'm on his team, i do badly :p and he wasn't there today to see my shots actually go in :p

We first played a game called Stacks - you shoot from the free throw line and if you score, the stacks number is incremented by 1 .. if you miss, then you add the stacks number to your score, and the stacks number goes back down to 0 .. once you reach 21 (in our case it was 11), you are then out (am just explaining for those who don't know the rules - cos i hadn't heard of this game before :p) ..

I was playing with Hang, Adam L, Adam O and Jody* (all guys :p) ... Anyhoos, I was meant to go after Jody, but based on his last performance, it was decided that Adam L would go after Jody and I after Adam L --> so order was Jody, Adam L, Me, Hang and Adam O ... ah it was good going after Adam L, he ended up getting a lot of stack points from Jody, and hence there was no pressure on me .. I think that helped, cos I ended up getting prolly 75% of my shots in (complete fluke! I couldn't even see the ring cos of the sun .. but lady/beginner's luck was on my side :p) .. hehe so poor Hang had a lot of pressure on him :p Adam L got out first, then I think Adam O, then Hang, then Jody ... I was only on 5 points at the end, thanx mainly to Adam L taking most of the stack points :p .. the funny thing is, Hang offered for me to shoot closer than the free throw line, but i didn't need to :p hmm though I don't think I could have made many shots from much further back :p

We then played a game - grads vs old ppl :p Slightly unfair because we had 3 (Hang, Adam L and me) vs 2, but I don't think it really mattered that much as Hang didn't play that hard, as he was in his work clothes .. we won that game (I actually scored a few) which was good .. we then played a 2nd game (first to 6) but Hang sat that one out ... We were winning for most of it, though it was quite hard without Hang's extra bit of help .. I scored 2-3 points at the start, but I played the 2nd half of that game badly, and we ended up losing with Jody scoring a 2 pointer from outside the circle ... dang! :p Oh well, was a good feeling to feel like i've improved since our last game though :p I even did some steals again :p Must be the practice with Hang :p felt bad that I fatigued so much in that 2nd game though, cos I really didn't put up much defence and my shots just bounced out :o/

Oh, and in one of my previous posts .. apparently those layout thingies are actually called layups :p Adam L was making fun of my jargon :p hehe i'm unco and clueless, i can't help it :p (we do layouts in frisbee though :p)

Speaking of frisbee, bumped into Amanda and Rob at the fields :o) They were playing soccer - Matt (our captain) was meant to be there too, but he didn't seem to turn up ... I might join them to play touch one Monday lunchtime - we'll see though .. not much longer at SL to go though :o(
