Say My Name, B!@#%!

A quote from American Pie :p It was a bit like that today though ...

The new security guard (he's been in my building for less than a month now?) asked me what my name was today ..  I thought I was in trouble because my security card takes about 10 swipes before it works .. but all he wanted was to say hi! :p

Yesterday I got a visit from one of the guys on my floors (to find out about work stuff) .. I'd spoken with him before, but apparently he never knew my name till y'day as he was telling me today  :p  ... later, he called my ex-workmate's desk and I didn't realise it was him .. and then he told me who it was and I still didn't know who it was (I didn't know his surname), and it only registered after I hung up :p

As well as this, people keep calling me On-dre-a.  It doesn't matter if I tell them my name first, they'll still pronounce it wrong ... e.g. Womble, who says I pronounce my name incorrectly!  :p  ah, the audacity  :p
 
So, I've kinda disappeared lately (hehe I can see this being a long post to make up for it  :p) for 2 reasons:

• Work, work and more work!


• Sewing

Work
My workmate (who I rely on for everything! He's sooo helpful!) left for overseas on Thursday (he's gone for 2 weeks), and as a result, I've spent the first half of the week talking to him about what I'm going to be doing whilst he's away, such that I'd be able complete my work on my own ... I thought things would die down once he's gone, as I'll be able to work at my own pace and not try to meet his departure deadline but i was wrong .. We only had 4 workmates in y'day and 3 in today, and so whilst trying to complete my tasks asap, I've also been answering phones and solving support issues .. fun! The time flies at least and I'm learning more and more so I guess that's a good thing :D

Sewing
And when I get home, I've been busy sewing .. hehe the singlet top I made on the weekend was a disaster - it looks like something my mum would wear! It was too big (but a bit small for her) and the material was well .. daggy :p Mum was disappointed I didn't finish it, she wanted it for herself :p Instead, I started making a trendier singlet .. it's a bit lopsided though, ah but it's all about learning :p

My parents find it funny that I keep talking to the boyz about my sewing .. Ian, Patrick (hehe though JY/Kaushik would probably call him a girl :p), my workmate .. hehe tis just strange that some of them know so much about it (though others don't and pretend to :p)

Gym
As well as all this, I've been trying out different classes at the gym .. Bball was cancelled (though JY didn't really want to invite me .. guess he was scared of an 455 whooping :p) so instead, I decided to try out the boxing class .. One of the guys from my building who I played touch with goes to it, and so I partnered up with him initially but then swapped so he could have a guy and I have a girl .. Though I prefer my workmate and hopefully will be able to partner up with him next week! I've been sore for 2 days though, ah was a strong workout on my arms!

I normally body pump on Thursday but my workmate keeps trying to convince me to go to Body Balance instead .. He got his wish, I think boxing was his ploy to get me to go ;o) I was too sore y'day to lift weights so I decided it was time to give Body Balance a go .. It wasn't that bad - a combo of pilates, tai chi and yoga .. The yoga moves are like the moves on Yoga Tv so I liked that part; the tai chi's a bit boring and feels silly; and I don't like pilates that much cos it strains my neck (I obviously do it wrong :p) .. I'd go again but I might alternate it with Body Pump .. hopefully boxing won't leave me as sore as it did this week :p

Meh .. I couldn't be bothered finishing this post anymore .. I'm exhausted! Stupid CityRail today - I left work later than normal to get as much work done as possible, and then rushed out of work to catch the train .. but it came about 30 mins late and then the connecting train was also late ... There were no announcements saying they were late, and the monitors didn't show how many minutes they would be (I guess you can't show negative time :p) .. argh frustrating!

but I guess it is on the train that I meet ppl .. I trained it in with Xerxes and Ian this week already :o) (even though it meant no sleep on the train :p)

Anyhoos, am about to nod off at my desk now so until the next installment ...
