The Love of Japanese Food

Yummy :o) This morning on spam, Ann mentioned how she and Jaimal went to a Japanese restaurant last night and how she ordered takoyaki .. I didn't know what takoyaki was until today at lunch, when Matt and I were at Chatswood .. they have food stalls there every Thursday apparently, and there was one stand selling takoyaki - octopus battered balls :o) They're sooooooo yummy!

I've had them before at sushi train (i've gone into sushi train before and only ordered them and nothing else :p) but never known what they were called :o) So Matt and I shared 8 for $5 ... we were fortunate as we didn't have to wait long - we got pretty much the last of the batch which had just been made :o)

It's really interesting to watch them make it as well .. it's just this gooey mess, which they keep turning in these half circular moulds until the outside touching the mould bit becomes round and hard .. and then they turn it some more ...

I also made some chicken teriyaki the other day .. it turned out okay - I made the sauce from scratch :o) (it was really easy to make though :p) However, one of the main ingredients to the sauce is soy sauce, and yet I still salted the chicken .. so the whole meal was rather overly salty :p whoops :p my bad :p I'm not v good at cooking :p I prefer baking :p

Tomorrow is Matty's farewell lunch .. Am going to miss him working at SL :o/ I hope we can still IM each other when he's at BT :p

Oh and my workmate is soo mean! This is the one who made the "that's your average" comment y'day ... Today, my other workmate offered me some choc chip bun and I said i'd have a small bit as I'm on a diet .. and he's like "but you're slim" .. and my other workmate was like "you shouldn't lie to the teenager" .. BAH! >:p

Feeling uber lethargic and unmotivated today :o/
