She Shoots, She Scores ..........

Okay .. well maybe not :p

I just got back from basketball with some of the grads + a workmate of a few of them (JY, Matt, Johnson, Hung & Mitch) and it was fun .. even though i'm now quite tired from it :p and was really quite buggered to play ...

The boys were quite surprised by how I played ... cos I don't think I was really invited in the first place (Matty invited me along because he knew I wanted to play with them) --> I don't think they expected any of my balls to go anywhere near the ring :p

Well the ball sorta did go near the ring much to their surprise :p .. most bounced off the ring and didn't go in :p .. BUT when I did actually score, I think the boyz were just .. well shocked :p They just didn't expect it - JY said I exceeded his expectations, though he did have ultra-low expectations of me :p I didn't score heaps, but I still scored a little bit ... and I did some sorta-okay defence ..

I've never really played basketball .. hehe the only times I have seem to be with Matt and the other Mac Bankers (and I think that's been only 3 times in total?) :p

I was up against Matt at first which was bad .. He's just so tall! Bah, going up against him was like going up against Phil at frisbee :p I wanted to go up against Hung cos he's a better height match, but he didn't want to go up against me - I don't know why :p

Eventually we swapped and I went up against Hung which was just sooo much better .. I guess cos whilst I didn't feel that fit, he was also feeling pretty ugh too :p And I could actually d against him sometimes .. hehe he kept telling me to stop shadowing him :p So I actually had a chance to score and get the ball when up against him :o)

I kinda tripped over him though at one stage and landed smack bang on the ground .. I ended up with a lumpy bruise immediately on my elbow and one on my hip, but it surprisingly didn't seem to hurt that much and I carried on playing .. It was really weird falling over on a hard surface, am used to just diving on grass for frisbee :p Normally i get a grazing instead of a bruise :p Now it's starting to hurt a bit though :p

hmm I think those that actually did go in were a bit of a fluke .. and i'm disappointed that so many just bounced off the ring .. Need to practice but have no where to practice, nor the time :p Oh well, let's just hope I can fluke it again next time :p

I got really thirsty and felt a bit ugh at the start though - am not used to playing a sport with such a fast pace .. frisbee just doesn't seem like that - well not div 4 anyways :p Eventually I gave in first and said I needed a water :p Think some of the boyz were being stubborn about taking a break :p

Hopefully the boyz will invite me along next time and won't just discount me cos i'm a girl :p
